* Contracted back to the Electro-Mechanical Packaging Group for work on a couple of different projects.
* Used Pro-E Wildfire 4 (Win7) and Windchill-8 for work on a dual mode Air to Ground Missile (JAGM) system and was approved for and received a security clearance for the project.
* Main responsibility was packaging the MM wave RF tranceiver subassembly into the missile body making sure of the proper fit with neighboring parts. The xcvr consisted of microwave guide plates and a multi-layer Printed Circuit Board (PCB) requiring precise alignment of RF components with the guide plates.
* I also worked on a new gimbal concept for possible use of the tranciever on other aircraft AND worked on a the preliminary layout of the combination power supply / servo control PCB for a large aperature (14in.) (electro optical tracking sensor) EOTS system.

* Contracted to the Electro-Mechanical Packaging Group for work on the fuel tank mounted (IRST) Infra-Red Search and Track sensor system for the F18.
* Used Pro-E Wildfire 3 (XP) and Windchill-8 data management to help with the design of the new electronic chassis.
* I was responsible for the top level assy of the chassis, the chassis assy, electronic cards, motherboard and other components. I was able to find and correct several fit problems resulting from incorrect information and was able to make changes to reduce weight within acceptable limits.

* Contracted back to the Design Support Group for work on several projects for the military.
* Used Pro-E Wildfire 3 (XP) to help design and model the anti-vibration mount for the optical sensor package to be used on the un-manned ground vehicles.
* I also worked on the power supply used in the Longbow FCR (Fire Control Radar) system used on the Apache helicopter. I was responsible for modelling the original version in Pro-E (previously done on paper and another cad system) then began making design changes for the new version.

* Used Pro-E Wildfire 3 (XP) to upgrade the AVUIT system and package it into the Left EFAB (Electronics Foward Avionics Bay) of the Apache AH-64 helicopter.
* I was awarded a "Certificate of Appreciation" recognizing me for my work on the project.

* Contracted back to the Design Support Group for work on several new and current projects.
* Used Pro-E Wildfire 3 (XP) to work on adapting Lockheed's "Sniper" ATP (Advanced Targeting Pod) to fit on the F-18 C/D aircraft. I worked on concepts to package additional electronics and equipment inside the adapter.
* Used pro-surfacing to help with difficult portions of the adapter and to make an SLA model
of the aircraft skin to check for proper fit.
* Additional projects I supported include:
AVUIT (Apache Video Unmanned Intelligent Teaming), a system to provide realtime video
              links from Air and ground support thru the Apache helicopter.
AGS (Advanced Gun System)- a rocket assisted projectile shot from a naval destroyer.
GUNSHIP, and others.

* Contracted to the Design Support Group for work on a variety of projects.
* Used Pro-E Wildfire 1 & 2 (XP) to create part models, assemblies, drawings, wiring diagrams and layouts. Designed tooling and fixtures for an R&D project to hold optical parts and assemblies for testing and alignment.
* Created new library parts and started a web page for users to see what parts were in the library. I also helped other designers with their Pro-E problems and showed them better ways to use Pro-E.
* Took a 15 hr. refresher course for ANSI Y14.5M-1982 .

* Contracted for work on the TADS (Target Acqisition and Designation Sight) night vision system and targeting FLIR for the Apache helicopter.
* Used Pro-E 2000 i2 (NT) to design precision optical / mechanical components and assemblies. Responsible for the NFOV (narrow field of view) assembly consisting of lenses, mounting cells, folding mirror, focusing mechanism and ray tracings. Pro PDM was used for managing data files.
* I became the ‘unofficial’ group mentor by helping other users answer their Pro-E questions and showing them better ways to use the cad software..
